Fiber optic connector type-1

Fiber optic connectors can be divided into different categories according to different classification methods, different transmission media can be divided into single-mode fiber-optic connectors and multimode fiber connector;  from the structure, they can be divided into different FC, SC, ST, D4 , DIN, Biconic, MU, LC, MT of various types;  From the pins of the connector end face, they can be divided into FC, PC (UPC) and APC; according to the number of fiber core as well as single-core and multi-core points. In the practical application of the process, we generally be distinguished according to the different structure of the fiber optic connectors. Following a brief introduction to some of the common optic fiber connector:

(1) FC fiber optic connector
this connector was first developed by Japan's NTT. FC Ferrule Connector external strengthens the metal sleeve, tightening the turnbuckle. Earliest, FC type connectors, using the butt end surface of the ferrule is a plane-contact manner (FC). Such connector structure is simple, easy to operate, easy to produce, but the fiber end face is more sensitive to dust, and prone to Fresnel reflection, improve return loss performance more difficult. Later, this type of connector pins (PC) using the butt end faces spherical, while the external structure has not changed, the insertion loss and return loss performance has been greatly improved.

(2) SC type fiber connector
this fiber optic connector developed by Japan's NTT. Its housing is rectangular in shape, the pin and the coupling sleeve is used in the structural dimensions and the FC-type are identical, wherein the pin end face of multi-use PC or APC-grinding method; fastening means mating pin latch, without rotation. Such low price of connector unplugged and intervene loss fluctuations, high compressive strength, high density mounting.

(3) The Biconical connector
The most representative type of fiber optic connectors products developed by Bell Laboratories, USA, it was a the frustoconical cylinder plug and an internal plastic sleeve equipped with dual cone by two by precision molded ends Coupling components of the barrel.
